CERCLE Odyssey

Cercle Odyssey Scenography 1

A JOURNEY BEYOND THE CONCERT

The world’s first large-scale 360-degree immersive nomad concert installation of its kind. It isn't just a concert; it's a transformative experience. Our unique visuals reflect humanity and nature, a connection we often crave in today's fast-paced world. Each concert unfolds like a living painting with videos projected onto the walls and ceiling, all synchronized live with the music.

Guided by the creative vision of Neels Castillon, represented globally by Ridley Scott Creative Group, Cercle Odyssey's film direction captures emotional and poetic moments, exploring the profound connection between art and nature.

MUSIC AT THE HEART

Artists perform at the center of the structure, bridging the venue and the surrounding world like a panoramic window onto our planet. The audience is free to move around, offering different perspectives and a dynamic way to experience the performance.

In terms of musical programming, Cercle Odyssey collaborates with talents from various genres and backgrounds. Our musical curation lies in the selection of performers whose compositions seamlessly blend auditory and visual elements.

INNOVATION MEETS SUSTAINABILITY

Cercle Odyssey blends innovation with sustainable design: 2300 m² of 8K projection screens 72 L-acoustics speakers all around the 50 meters long and 10 meters high structure. All of the equipment (sound, light, and projectors) is sourced and rented locally. By using projectors instead of LED screens, we create a stunning visual impact while reducing our carbon footprint, eliminating the energy costs associated with transporting large LED screens from city to city.

NO PHONES POLICY

For a full immersion in the experience, phones are forbidden inside the structure. This allows a deep connection with the performance and the visuals, free from digital distractions. However, as a souvenir, each guest will receive a folder of filmed content from Cercle.

POWERFUL AND PRECISE immersive sound

Music is the soul of Cercle Odyssey. Our collaboration with the Sound Experience Team of Ircam amplify elevates sound to a new dimension. The Amplify's immersive sound technology creates a closer connection between the music, the artists, and the audience, enhancing our live performances. Guests experience an enveloping soundscape and precise sound, with a unique listening experience no matter where they are in the scenography.

For artists, this partnership boosts creativity by making music three-dimensional. They can create dynamic performances by playing with sound localization and movement, fostering a stronger connection with the audience.

MEET OUR TALENTS

Derek Barbolla

Derek Barbolla is the Founder and Creative Director of Cercle, the esteemed and revolutionary artistic movement that hosts and curates musical experiences, events, festivals, and immersive journeys.

Raised in the Parisian suburbs in a multicultural (Franco-Argentinean) household that fostered arts and emotion, Derek was encouraged to pursue creative endeavors by his father, an actor, and his mother, a psychoanalyst. Derek studied music theory throughout his early life ahead of his formal education at Sorbonne University, where he obtained a Degree in Cinema Studies.

An early player in the Artificial Intelligence industry, Derek’s first foray into technology began at eighteen years old with a role in machine learning. He further established his career in AI during his time at VirtuOz, a software company that develops and sells an interactive agent technology capable of efficiently collaborating with clients’ customer service departments. It was here that Derek developed his skills to explore and support the evolving market of virtual events. This introduction to the intersection of digital communication and production helped to shape the foundation of Cercle.

Following his passions for artistic expression and production, Derek created Cercle, a pioneering new approach to electronic music performances that has expanded to include Cercle Moments, Cercle Records, and Cercle Odyssey. Today, Cercle is a wholly innovative concept that combines a passion for promoting cultural heritage and iconic landmarks through music and sound with an innate ability to deliver immersive world-class performances to communities across the world.

Music preferences: So eclectic! Classical Bach, Vivaldi, and jazzy Ray Charles stood as essential to my understanding of music. Rap (mainly US and French), pop, indie, rock, reggaeton (and Latin music more broadly), electronic music, R&B, soul, Afrobeat, reggae, and many other genres… I now strive to blur boundaries between musical genres.

Andy Cheremond

Andy Cheremond, Chief Financial Officer at Cercle, plays a key role in expanding Cercle’s impact, from scaling international events to exploring new opportunities in the digital and immersive experience industry. Andy has ensured that the financial goals of Cercle align with its artistic vision. Andy has developed innovative strategies to diversify revenue streams, including optimizing partnerships with cultural institutions, local governments, and tourism boards, so that Cercle’s productions remain world- class whilst maintaining its creative integrity.

Combining his background in finance as a Private Equity Analyst at Bpifrance (French Public Investment Bank) with his passion for the transformative power of music and a deep understanding of the music industry, Andy’s strategic vision has been vital to Cercle’s continued success.

Her interest in the legal world and the challenges of sustaining a label’s economy led her to her current role at Cercle. Although she has a fairly eclectic music consumption, she decided to specialize in electronic music at Cercle, where she shares the same values. If the world were to explode, Clémence would rather keep her vinyl collections before anything else.

His special talent relies on creating a bond with artists that feels as much like family as music, committing to them for the long haul.
